Hi, I know about reading the device settings and adjusting manually (although never did that) for the preview times, but I thought reading from the machine will give accurate timing?
It is completely off, preview said 33 minutes for a job, Im at 50 mins and it is only half way done a project. I don’t understand how it could be off THAT much. I have a BOSS LS-3655
Also I don’t know if I am crazy but I feel like the LPI is different than when doing normal fill.
I have it at 225 but it is very detailed, barely moving and taking forever to engrave.
Hi Tim - the preview time is an estimate based on the values set in your controller. If you go to 'Edit > Device Settings" then click the Additional Settings tab. From here you can read the values from the controller, and modify them to get the estimate closer. You will need to fine tune the values to get them to be as close as possible manually, there are many variables that ultimately make this time an estimate, not a known time.
I’m just confused because everything I read here, FLOOD Fill is supposed to be way faster than normal engrave. and yet, it is taking 5x as long and I had no idea because the preview said it was faster but it isnt, at all. its slower
Flood fill isn’t a silver bullet - it can take much longer in certain situations. This video should give you some context: Node Editing, Perforation, and Flood Fill - YouTube
