In a test with a 2" lens I found that there was no deeper penetration by narrowing the focus below the surface of the material, in fact the penetration becomes less deep.
Is it because the optical center point of the hourglass is not the same as the physical one? (depth of focus) Or is there not enough time for the acrylic to evaporate?
The test was done with 250ms pulses and 35% power.
The picture shows 9 shots, in the middle it is precisely 50.8mm and each shot in both directions is +/- 1mm increased or reduced.
