Framing won't go nor Fire

I guess I clicked something I shouldn’t have but I was engraving on my rotary then nothing. Home works but Frame and Fire don’t. As you can see from the pic that the alarm isn’t liking it. Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,
Diveking

Did you inadvertently enable rotary mode?

That’s what I need is Rotary to do some tumblers

Sorry. I thought you were saying that you had been in rotary but not longer were.

If you disable rotary and return settings does the laser function normally?

Nope…It will home and I try to Frame with nothing. Fire works.

What’s your history with this laser? Is this something that you’ve been able to do in the past or this is a new situation?

It’s good that laser fires as that’s not something that should have been affected by anything with rotary.

Can you run these commands in Console after homing and then return output:

still don’t know why it wont frame

Is this immediately after homing? The GRBL configuration looks okay but the machine status is odd.

I wouldn’t expect this to be your coordinates after homing and I don’t see any reason in your settings that would indicate this is how it should be.

This indicates that the X limit switch is being triggered. Was the switch being engaged at this time?

Dont know how the X or Y is being engaged. They should both be engaged when engraving…

Your later screenshot doesn’t show it so it may have been a temporary issue.

In any case, can you confirm that you ran those commands immediate after homing?

I did run those commands…Still in Rotary mode and tried this to frame…

The part I’m trying to clarify is that homing was first done and then those commands run immediately afterward without any other change.

The fundamental issue may be that your origin is not zeroing out. I’m trying to get a handle on why that is.

Here is the info after homing. Thanks.
Home then Commands.txt (1.5 KB)

Okay. If this is the output immediately after homing then there’s something broken in how the firmware is setting origin and I see nothing in how it’s setup that would explain it.

Ortur firmware normally sets origin after homing. In this case post homing position is set as -600,-600.

I’d suggest trying to reset the firmware. If that doesn’t work, updating the firmware again may help.

First try entering this in Console:

$RST=*
$H
?

Can you return the output from that? Note that the second command will home the laser so be prepared for it.

2nd Commands.txt (812 Bytes)
Here is the return info you asked for. I hope it explains some more.

The message indicated that the machine failed to home. Can you confirm whether or not your machine is home properly?

It seems to home fine. I have the rotary hooked up and laser heads to the left and the rotary rolls for a while. So I think it is fine for Home.

Can you disable rotary until the laser is working properly? I want to confirm that the laser is operating normally and that origin is being set correctly.

Disable rotary and then run these commands:

$H
?

Please return output.

Here ya go…

$h
