Full Spectrum Laser Pro LF Controller Conversion

Hello Everyone,

I have a vintage Full Spectrum Laser Pro LF running the Retina Engrave controller and re3 software. The Ethernet port has died as you likely know updating to a new FSL controller and Software is many thousands of dollars and impossible for me to afford.

I am considering going with a third party controller with LightBurn. I know very little about either one. I am looking for advice on a specific goto combo for controller, LightBurn, and FSLaser machinery?

My current workflow is direct print from Corel into retina Engrave. Most of my production is cutting 3mm acrylic with very little; etching. My priorities in order of importance are:

  • Ease of conversion
  • Cost.
  • Retaining/improving final product quality and consistency
  • Reliability
  • Preservation of current workflow

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and opinions.

There are definitely options out there - I know Rabbit Laser does conversions: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/cn2Gu28x014

A full controller swap is a pretty technical process, just be forewarned.

There’s some discussion here that may be useful if you’re going to DIY it: Full Spectrum Pro 24x36 Controller swap to Ruida 6445G from Cloudray - FULL SPECTRUM FORUM

Sorry, I failed to mention that this will 100% be DIY. I have in the past upgraded the tube and powersupply. Technical does not bother me, lack of documentation and directions on the other hand… LoL

Good! If you have the technical skill then I think you’ll be able to make it work. You’ll likely come to find that any deep technical manuals from FS don’t exist publicly.
