Macbook Pro and Falcon2 Pro 40w----getting frustrated -using LB and it recognizes the camera but . . .
Just finished camera calibration done and trying to do the alignment phase. every time I click ‘frame’ and ‘start’ I get a popup that says " There was a problem sending data to the laser. The machine may be busy or paused." I moved the USB cable to different ports and get the tone that indicates battery is charging but still get the popup. My system report does not show the laser connected to a USB port
If the laser isn’t showing up in your system report, LightBurn can’t see it.
Many have found connection problems with Mac and their laser to be an issue with how MacOS translates, or rather doesn’t translate the onboard USB 3+ to the USB 2.0 of the laser. The most common solution seems to be using a “dumb: USB 2.0 hub connected though a Lightning adapter. Faulty, cheap USB cables are another source of problem for Mac and PC users alike. Get a high quality USB cable, with the ferrite core on the ends and a USB 2.0 hub and see if that solves your issue. This video will help diagnose if your Mac sees the device and offers a couple suggestions if it doesn’t.
I’m a little embarrased while frustrated - bottom right of LB screen showed the device and name of the laser. What I didn’t know is there is a selection between those two and when I changed it out of curiosity both the engraver and laptop agreed. i was able finish the camera alighnment.
