Getting Lightburn and My MacBook Air to find the XTool D1 Pro

Is there any documentation or info out there on troubleshooting this issue? Here is what I have tried so far:
made sure the usb port is working by connecting other usb devices.
Looked to make sure that my Apple OS is up to date
Made sure my XTool has the latest up grade
connected to the laser with XTool software.
