Getting "Target exceeds machine travel" error on new laser

I just setup a new laser (Longer B1, 40 watt), and I am trying my first engraving onto some included test basswood. Just and engraving of my personal logo. I am using “Current position” and when I press “Frame” the laser head moves right around the area on the test board I want to engrave to. But, when I click “Start” I see some GRBL code…

ok
Starting stream
Layer C10
ALARM:2
G-code motion target exceeds machine travel. Machine position safely retained. Alarm may be unlocked. (Right-click the ‘Devices’ button to reset the connection)
On or near line 1:
Job halted
Stream completed in 0:00
Grbl 1.1 [‘$’ for help]

I don’t understand. Why is it telling me the target exceeds machine travel?

Thanks!

It is easy to encounter this error for various reasons using this Start Here mode.Without a screen capture or the Lightburn file we will not be much help.

My suggestion is to use Absolute Coords. What this gives you is a Lightburn work grid that matches the laser work space. Then wherever the drawing in in the grid, that is where the laser will go in the machine area. One exception to this is when doing images and there is too much Overscan set.
