Did you place something behind the glass?
I think a lot of people just use a damp paper towel over the glass. Just make sure that there are no overlaps in the paper towel and that there are no air bubbles between it and the glass. Lastly, I would either turn off the air or turn it on very low so you dont blow the paper towel off.

I tried before using dishwashing soap covering the surface and tried the paper towel method but didn’t see much difference.
This straight on to the vase, nothing on it.
