All controllers do basically the same thing, but with wild and wonderful differences.
You must verify:
- The power supply voltage is compatible
- The connectors are physically compatible
- Which connector goes to each motor / laser / switch
- The pins have the same arrangement in those connector
- The firmware configuration settings match the machine
A quick look doesn’t show the Makerbase board in their shop and the connectors look incompatible, so the conversion is probably a Bad Idea.
From what I can tell, this board is used in one of the Two Trees TTS55 laser. Appears to be a cost cutting version of the DLC32 board. It should work, but there is less information on them.
You can google them for a github site that will likely have ways to upgrade have support for the board. This is one of them. There is also an option to load FluidNC on that board.
I have a version 2.1 of the DLC32.
They use the same cpu (32bit) but mine has an extra axes…
Yours should work, assuming it has grbl firmware on it.
@misken knows these types better than I, so hang in there until he drops by.
I agree, I guess it should work. The only question is if they changed some pinouts (usually they don’t) such that the configurations must be adapted. But I think it should run with standard configuration and might only need minor changes.
Good day
True that is for TTS55
