I have an Ortur LM3, which I have used daily with Lightburn for more than a year to support my business.
I run v 1.5.02
This morning I cannot engrave grayscale images (I could yesterday). The laser simply does not turn on and off, so I get a square with 100% fill. The LM3 is working in all other aspects i.e for filling vector graphics and cutting. Hence I assume, it is a software issue. I have not changed firmware or did any recent changes to my hardware setup.
I have tried several of my tried old logo files etc. I have spent a couple of hours going through all relevant settings, biting my nails, as I expected, that it must have come from some accidental change of a checkmark. But I cannot detect anything changed.
I was on 1.5.01 when the issue arose. Then upgraded to 1.5.02 and rebooted, just to try. But it did not help.
I have not yet tried to convert to dither or any of the other image modes, as I am anyway lost without grayscale.
I’m at my wit’s end. And in a state of panic, which is why I’m particularly worried, that I am missing something obvious, although I am a seasoned used.
I checked cables, plugs, firmware - everything. And yet you solved it by the remark, that grayscale images have a min and a max setting. I know that of course. But it made me wonder. Dang it if that didn’t suddenly change. My setting for the older files I tried, were suddenly min = 100%. How that could happen, I simply cannot fathom. But right now, I couldn’t care less. I can continue my work. My sincerest thanks. And now I need wine and some thoughts about early onset dementia
