Using a Jtech 7.5 Watt Laser on a Shapeoko with .07 line width. I generally have pretty good results with all of my laser work and with images a as well. With this particular image I am trying to figure out what causes the vertical bands. Is it the image quality itself or possibly something I have setup wrong? They aren’t straight up and down and tend to zig zag a bit. I have tried different speeds and line widths but doesn’t seem to help. Thanks for any help on this.
That looks like vibration in the laser - that’s a guess, but it could be from dirt on the rails, a loose bearing or laser mount, etc.
