Having a big problem, Lightburn won't stop sending a signal to my engraver

Hey, I accidently broke the wire that connects my engraver to my Pc.

I’ve replaced the wire but now lightburn won’t stop streaming to my engraver so it won’t let me do anything, It works fine in LaserGRBL so this is a lightburn problem anyone got any idea how i can fix this?

I’ve already tried all the normal ways of stopping and non of it works… i have a feeling this is a case of delete and re-install but i hope this can be avoided

oh yea, this happened while it was engraving

i deleted and re-installed and it still saying “busy”

Windows likely saw the laser was not active, so it assigned that COM port to something else, or just turned it off.

Did you try restarting everything including the PC? This will let Windows “discover” the laser again and assign the port.

OMFG my hero!! I’ve spent hours messing with all different settings… flipping my engraver around and rebuilding it, brought 2 different wires and all i needed to do was restart my computer haha… its always the most simple thing!

thank you so much
