I attached a camera to the laser head. I did the calibration according to the instructions. However, when I click the update overlay button, the image does not reflect on the cutting area. When I click the button next to the update overlay, there is no change. What is the reason for this and how can I solve it?
I do not use a camera, but everything I read says it has to be mounted above the laser head, not on it.
There is no way it can see the entire workspace that close to the material.
Have you seen and used the description from this link here?
I have used a head-mounted camera a few years ago, but only to be able to precisely focus on very small items I made this time. Using this type of camera for “normal” use, I have a little difficulty seeing the advantages compared to a good camera, mounted statically above the machine bed. It becomes a little too cumbersome to piece together larger areas of your machine bed, quite rightly as @MikeyH writes. But for print and cut or very fine focusing on existing, irregular items, it was a fine and usable solution for me this time.
