Help! First timer Laser output seems to have totally changed from one day to the next

I have an Ortur Lasermaster 2 pro. I was trying to do some dog tags (anodized aluminum) and had no problem my first time, now I dropped my speed all the way down to 1000 and power to 90 and I still cannot get an image to burn. So I burned an image on a wood ornament and the difference from last night to this night is pretty obvious. The picture shows the good one left and today’s right. As you can see the burn is darker and distorted the view but there is no color on the rings. Resolution is terrible as a result of the more intense burn. I also tried a different wood ornament and half the stuff wouldn’t print. Thing is same settings each times, only difference is the day. Anyone out there experience this?
I’d be ever so grateful for some help. image|502x321

Not gonna lie, I think this is at least the 3rd or 4th of the same exact post from you about the same thing. Please don’t make multiple posts about the same thing. Just wait at least a day for people to respond.

Please post your settings and file here.

I think you are using an image when you should trace the image and try a burn that way.

I’ve made a lot of these wood ornaments and I can tell you, sometimes the rings in them won’t cut or burn through due to the hardness.

To me it looks out of focus.

I’m sorry, yes I panicked and thought I could delete the other posts. I saw people answering everything except for mine. No, it was a trace, not an image. The exact same settings from one day to the next. I’ll head home on lunch and send exactly what I have. I apologize again, didn’t mean to be a pain.

I’d take a look at your focus as @ctf1800 suggests, and please post what the anodized aluminum looks like. I haven’t attempted aluminum yet as I don’t have the need for it, but certain colors will engrave better than others AFAIK.

Is the 1000 speed in mm/minute or mm/second?

The only problem here is, it would work in the opposite, the wood looks like it is burning too slow, the metal, too fast. I’ll check to see the settings when I get home but I doubt it is switching between the two. Some variable has changed somewhere.

This was my first burn, the second doesn’t even show a sign of being touched.

I’ve got it running. I think I must have screwed up the focus as you guys said. Thanks to you both, apologies for wasting everyone’s time.
