HELP - there was a problem sending data to the laser - error message

i just typed in some letters. hit start. and i get this error message - “there was a problem sending data to the laser. machine may be busy or paused.” it’s my first image trying to print. it got the machine to work on the ipad app but it kept crashing so went to try it on my computer intsead) (meaning - i know the machine works and i’ve gotten it burning already).

i’m on mac os monterey version 12.1, imac desktop 3.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5

You need to select the correct communication port. Did you use the USB connection? Is the driver installed? Do you see any usbserial-device?
