I’m trying to extend the two horizontal lines near the node I have highlighted to meet the lines on either. You can see where I have done this already in other parts of a screenshot. I’m having a hell of a time moving the node over horizontally to snap to the vertical line without either over or under shooting it, or accidentally moving the line off the horizontal axis and introducing an angle.
I am able to to this fine moving a line (I hold shift and drag the line and it easily snaps to the destination), but I can’t seem to do the same when editing nodes. I am using the mouse by the way if that matters. I’m not sure if I am doing something wrong, or there is a better way to do what I want to achieve, but it’s taking me forever to do these and I have a lot of them to get through. Any help is appreciated. I’m still figuring this out. thx!
If you have many of this kind, it is quick to construct rectangles with the necessary wide and place them as needed. Then node editing is quickly made.
Hi. I’m not 100% sure I understand, but I think this is what I am trying to do. I am creating two rectangles with the desired height (.1250"). I set them the correct distance apart from each other, select both, and then use the align tool to evenly space them on either side of the center-line of the part. (see attached pic)
Then I remove the vertical bits from the side of the rectangles, leaving me with parallel lines. This is where it gets tricky. I try to extend the line nodes perfectly horizontally and snap to the edge. It seems to always get wonky and either screws up the distance between the lines, or does not snap cleanly to the object.
Here’s a short tutorial showing how to do what I think you want to do. I just discovered that my mic wasn’t working so this might not make sense without the commentary. I just redid the video with a working mic, LOL.
Thank you so much for the help all. Sorry to have bothered you with what was a basic question, but I am pretty new to working with vectors. I Appreciate the guidance
