I am struggling to create this lion. I am trying to make a laser project with a vector to create a mostly filled lion like the reference in the project attached. I tried closing gaps with tolerance, auto joining, etc. It appears it only wants to fill the outside. Anyone able to lend a hand to help me make an acceptable. I attached the project and some reference files. Any help is greatly appreciated!

What you would need is more then one Trace.
You can either create one Trace for the Outline and one for the red Parts ish
Or create three Traces. One for the Red Part, one for the Yellow and one for the Blue.
You could also try to edit the Image first. So that you have a clear Outline on the Crest/Lion. Removing the Rest of the Crest if you only want the Lion is also a good step.
