I wanted to make a grid on a spoil board for my xTool D1 Pro. I have the file I purchased form Buster Beagle for D1 Pro 20W/RA2 Pro.
I used the file xTool-D1ProV3.lbdev, from xTool’s website, to set up my D1 Pro in Lightburn.
I tried the ‘Home’ function in Lightburn for the first time for this project. I have Absolute Coords selected.
I click home and the console shows the error in the first pic below.
I then click frame and it functions correctly without issue.
When I try to start a burn, I get message that project may be out of bounds, click OK, the alarms sounds and the error message in second pic below is displayed. I can have the laser dead center of the work area, try a burn and get the out of bounds error. I always clear it and the job process normally.
I have rebooted my laptop, I have turned the laser off/on many times. I have removed the laser from the device list many times and re-added. All with the same results.
Threw in screen shots of my Lightburn screen & Device Settings. I assume there is a setting off somewhere that is the cause.
The first pic is not an error, purely information so nothing to be concerned with.
This is likely because of the physical layout of your laser. Since you have a -16 mm offset, your laser head needs to move left 16 mm relative to the position of the red laser crosshair. I suspect your head or something near it is hitting the left limit switch when it needs to make that adjustment at the start of the job.
If that’s the case, then first check to see if there’s anything mechanical you can do to avoid the situation. If you cannot, then you may need to move the design to the right until you’re able to clear all obstacles.
Alternatively, disable the pointer offset, don’t use the red crosshairs, and rely exclusively on the laser dot to do your alignment.
