Homing no longer works and the limit switch warning airs immediately

I am brand new to laser engraving cutting. But I have an issue that I have seen three other people post about since the latest update was released.
Xtool D1 Pro 20w with an Asus Zenbook 64bit Windows 11.
Near the beginning of running a test card acquired by a forum (Louisiana Hobby Guy), the laser seemed to almost start skipping or shaking. I stopped the engrave. Reset focus. Then decide maybe I will try a cut first instead of engraving. So did the cut portion of the test and it was wonky. See attached images. I checked my belt tension and adjusted accordinglybut when I went to try again, an alarm sounded indicating what I now think is related to the limit switches. I tried rehoming the laser and it ran into the side and kept trying to run despite hitting the wall. I have seen a video of this on this forum with no response yet. So I checked the limit switches. They are not obscured. They do not appear to be damaged. And all cords are connected fully. Tried to complete framing through lightburn and it alarmed immediately. In Xtool Creative Space, if I turn off the limit switches, I can cut and engrave. But I don’t want to use xcs. Any suggestions?
