Hello , I have a Burnlab A20 pro which everything I see appears to also be an Atomstack A20 Pro.
When I home the laser it goes to the front left and if i check Get position it reads
X: 0.99, Y:1.00 yet if I select move to position , I have them set to X:0.00, Y: 0.00 and hit “GO” then the laser head moves slightly and now is at X:0.00 , Y:0.00…
When I first switch on the machine it homes and I see it stop at the limit switch and never smashes into it but seems to get there quite gently and I will see this slight error in position. I find that my routine now is-- Whenever I home the laser I check that position and then correct .
Is there a solution I could investigate .

Tony
Is this posing an issue for you?
The root cause of this is likely not an issue and is due to the pull-off distance after homing ($27).
Some machines will home to 0,0 after pull-off distance has been accounted for. However, other machines will set origin to 0,0 before the pull-off is accomplished resulting in what you’re seeing.
As long as it reliably reaches the same value every time after homing it’s likely not a homing problem.
If you insist on having position after homing to be 0,0 there are ways of accomplishing this if you’re interested. However, be aware that it’s not necessarily a problem that you’re getting this behavior.
Thank you Berainlb
I don’t feel like it is an issue. I have noticed however that it does happen randomly so I can not determine what triggers this positioning offset. Frankly it does not bother me but I am not sure if this discrepancy is causing other issues.,
The only thing that I find happening and I only mention this in case it is an issue that gives some hints to the problem. Some times when I first initiate the machine it will home and as I mentioned it may or may not completely zero the X&Y but the first time I frame a project , it commences the framing but in unbelievably slow motion , Barely moving, so I stop it and then hit frame again and then it frames perfectly fine.
My only concern is accuracy. If in your opinion none of these are a problem for accuracy then I am not concerned. The few projects I have that require accuracy, I have made a target template and calibrate that prior to starting so I am fine otherwise.
Thank you for looking
Tony
Are you saying that it’s not reliably 0.99,1.00 after homing? If so, that is potentially an issue. I only meant that if it homes to that every time is it potentially not an issue.
Is it possible that the homing operation is not completely successfully? Homing is a 2-stage process… first time each axis should trigger homing switches, pull-off a bit, then re-engage both switches at a slower speed, then do a final pull-off.
Is this happening reliably? I’m wondering if it’s not completing the second stage.
Hi Berainlb.
Thank you for sticking with me.
I have switched the machine on and off more than a dozen times to see if I can find some consistency.
So far each time I have switched the machine on it has consistently homed to
X:0.99 , Y:1.00 so for some reason it is no longer random it seems to be consistent.
I started a project and hit Frame and it framed as normal .
I did check and each time it has completed the two stage process at homing so for whatever reason I am thinking that throughout my procedures I am doing something that is causing the randomness of my initial concern.
I just homed the machine to check and it gave read once again x:0.99, Y:1.00 so I moved it to position X:0.00 , Y:0.00 and once it settled there I again selected home and it defaults to X:0.99 , Y:1.00 so I think it is safe to assume that is my Machines Default Home . You wrote “As long as it reliably reaches the same value every time after homing it’s likely not a homing problem.”
Sio as long as this continues to be constant I don’t think I need worry about that . Of course I am open to any advise.
I will continue today and run a couple of projects from scratch and make notes to see if I can determine what is ( if at all ) triggering my previous issues.
Thank you again
Tony
Hi Berainlb.
Just a follow up. I have been using the machine all week and it appears that it is constantly homing to x:0.99,y:1.0 so I am going to leave it all alone. I have not noticed any issues with accuracy so thank you for your advice.
