Edit: removed email address, because spammers @ednisley
Can you confirm your z end stop limit switch is working correctly? I do not know that machine offhand. Do you know what controller is used? (ruida controller possibly) My DSP driven laser has settings onboard that cannot be controlled from within Lightburn for homing and z moves etc. All that stuff is handled by the laser controller. On my controller there is an option to disable z on homing.
@sampson
Most often there is a switch or a sensor to stop the engraver at the end of travel. If you get grinding at the end of travel, it is because the switch or sensor did not inform the controller to stop.
The type of laser engraver will dictate how we check the switches.
Please take a picture of the controller for your laser engraver and post it here so we know how to proceed.
Also, Iâll tidy up your reply and look forward to more information about your laser engraver.
this is probably wrong place again, but need help finding out why my chinneese 50w laser engraving machine the honeycomb table motor wont shut off so cant use my machine, its SDKEHUI,WITH TOUNJEN LASER,PLEASE see photos of some settings thanks.
Searching for SDKEHUI or TOUNJEN LASER does not produce any helpful information. Do you have a link to the machineâs data on the manufacturerâs website?
Does the machine have a limit switch on the U axis?
Can you activate the switch manually?
Does the controller show that the switch is activated?
Does the table move toward the switch when you turn the machine on?
I asked him to post a link to the machine⌠I did find a boatload of these from a grbl dpssl type to a monster with conveyor belts for manufacturingâŚ
The company is called Shan Dong Tong Zheng laser equipment co. LTD Liao Cheng City, CN, but applied for the Tounjen name as a trademark.
It appears to be some kind of co2, but the console doesnât remind me of any particular dsp type controller. The Tounjen that I did find stated they had a Ruida, but the console looks like my Ruida, not like hisâŚ
Im not sure about any off your questions, all i know is i did a couple off coasters on slate and acrylic one and was ok,but unknown to me set off cables came unplugged so i was messing with the settings entill i noticed cables off so put them back on,but i obviously changed something in the settings, as for the motor the table just rises and keeps trying to rise so its not switching off.its not lightburn program as i have no laptop or anything elts connected to it,thanks.and yes motor starts running as soon as it resets computer on laser
I have merged all your threads here so we can improve focus.
You may have a Ruida Controller that is inside the chassis of the laser engraver. If so, itâs usually a tan-colored block with lots of writing and green screw terminals to connect wires.
Please take a picture of that block inside the engraver and drag that picture into a reply here.
If you saved your LightBurn file you can upload it here.
That file will tell us a lot about what youâre working with.
Hi john i will send photos but sure its in settings on the actual
laser as when i went into settings and raised the table it will go up and down and stop when it gets to the top
Whats wrong with the photos,i told you i was a complete novice ,and if settings look ok in the first lot off settings then it must have a fault but i dont think it has as i can manualy lift table all the way too the top and it stops automaticly, just when you switch machine of and back on again table rises by its self and wont stop, thanks
A picture of the controller, which @JohnJohn described as âusually a tan-colored blockâ is a critical piece of information. The rest are useful, but the key piece is missing.
Perhaps you intended to upload that instead of the duplicated picture of the platform lift motor.
All of us started that way and thereâs no shame in it.
However, in order to help you, you must help us. When youâre asked a specific question about a part of the machinery, your answer tells us more about the problem. Without that answer, we do not know any more than we did before.
In the nine days since you sent the first DM to me, youâve consistently not answered specific questions weâve asked to understand whatâs going on. Weâre spring-loaded to help, but we cannot see what youâre seeing and donât know what you know.
If fixing your machine is as important as you say, then go down through all the questions and answer each one as best you can. Not understanding what the question means or to look for is fine: mention the question, tell us what you donât understand, and we will help you learn whatâs needed.
When youâre done fixing this, youâll no longer be a beginner. In fact, youâll likely be helping the next person.
sorry but i thought this was the controller,so its inside the machine i take it.thanks for your paitence, dont know if this helps diagrame off the board
Thatâs an interesting little controller. I suspect the âU Return to Zeroâ setting should be set to âCloseâ, since at power on I doubt it would be essential for the table to also be homed.
Roy - do you remember back when you first got this machine if the table would start moving as part of the homing cycle?
Hi Nicolas, i dont beleive the table moved when i switched machine on and of just the laser would move slightly to zero ,and thank you for saying thats the controler as i thought it was and im pretty sure you will be correct about it being open i will check later and let you know thank you,R.sampson
Well had man come out put new sensor on my machine and its working ok now,but the distance he had to travel cost me just over
ÂŁ600,and being from china and with 2 years warenty,i asked the seller on ebay to help pay for repair but he said its to high so i asked ebay to look at my problem but, because it was 30 days since i purchased they said nothing they can do,the seller was sending me things on how to fix or repair over 30 days ,so they knew what they were doing, just a warning to others about buying from china
