I’ve read all the directions, preinstalled the driver, and I’m unable to connect the computer to the laser, or even find the port that the laser is connected to. All the videos I’ve watched skip through this part because it’s complicated and takes some serious IT skills and usually support. Please help me… I am so excited to get started.
Try this: Manually create the Device in the Laser window. It is dirt simple (requiring no I.T. skills) to do and takes less than a minute. Just be sure to select plain GRBL without any extensions.
If Windows assigns a Port to the laser (you will hear a ding when you connect the laser), it should appear in the box next to the Devices one.
If Windows does not do a notification that you connected the laser. let us know. Everything here assumes you are making a USB connection.
