I’m new to lazer burning. I have a ortur 2 and cant figure out how to adjust burn and speed
It depends on what you want to do, less speed and more power to cut, more speed and less power to engrave
Hi John,
Your wording is a little unclear but I am going to assume you want to know how to choose the appropriate burn intensity and speed for the job at hand.
The answer varies and depends on whether you are
- cutting material
- engraving material
- the nature of the material, MDF, plywood, tile, glass etc.
The answer is to try it and see what happens by doing lots of tests. Each person has a different environment with different materials so they use different settings. You must discover the settings best for your circumstances by doing lots of tests. I do this by cutting and engraving the test cards you see below. You need test cards for each material that you use. The first sample you see is MDF painted with flat white primer. The second sample is 3 mm ash plywood. All materials behave differently.
