How to clean up lines

I’ve imported the bird svg & created the circles. I’d like to cut out the shape of the bird without cutting the points at the beak & tail. Those points I’d like to just make a line on the circle edge or maybe shade them in. So basically cut out the shape but keep the two points touchging the circle intact. How do I join the lines, then set the power level for each cut/line.

Thanks in advance.

The boss sees this once in a while with Christmas ornaments… I think you’re early.

You’ll want to put all three closed shapes on the same layer…

The short answer: Boolean Subtract - You want to subtract the bird from the circle.

Select the circle, Shift+Select the bird, Boolean Subtract. (Shape A - Shape B = result)

I see somebody else helped you below, but I think they misunderstood what you’re trying to do or maybe I misunderstanding what you’re trying to do. I think what you’re trying to do is cut out the bird and then the part where the beak and the tail are have that engraved Onto the remaining piece of wood so the bird is cut out, but it looks like it’s part of the original circle to do that. I would highlight the bird copy it and paste it and on the paste, change the layer to a different color and then on click the Button button for output. Then weld the two pieces together the outside of the bird and the inside of the circle, and then once that is done, click the output button for the extra bird layer that you made and change that to a line output with for engraving. Now the when you cut it out, the bird will be cut out, and then it will engraved where the beak is on the circle and the tail and it’ll go around where you cut out but it’s not gonna do anything there and then cut out the final circle. I hope that helps.

Thanks for all the help and tips. I truly appreciate it.
