How to do a2 Sided Mug

I had a project where i wanted to put a graphic on one side of a mug and a name on the other side of the mug

If you would like to do a design on both sides of a mug here’s an easy way to do it:

Lets assume the deign for your mug is 60 mm high

And the circumference of your mug is 287mm

Make a box that is 60mm wide and 287mm high

Set the box to T1 Tool Layer

Move it to page center

Make another box that is 60mm wide and 143.5mm high (Half of 287)

Set the box to T1 Tool layer

Move it to page center so the boxes overlap

Use the 2 horizontal lines to position your text for side 1 and side 2

I have attached a sample lightburn file.

Jakes House of Iron GENTHE #4 2 Sided.lbrn2 (63.3 KB)

Because of the way my laser works i have to flip my images upside down. You may not have to do that . I set my Chuck horizontal to the X axis with the top of the mug clamped in the chuck on the left side of the machine. You may position yours differently so you need to adjust your design accordingly

That’s a funny looking mug, 287 mm in diameter, 60 mm high.
I’ll bet you meant 287 circumference, 91 mm diameter.

MY bad. 287mm is circumference not diameter. I will correct. 287mm diameter would be a HUGE mug. :frowning:

T1 is a tool layer, not a cut layer. (Not crucial, but a subtle, important difference; makes things more clear.)

Beer mug!!!

WARNING Do not stand between this person and their morning coffee! :hot_beverage:
