I am trying to engrave on a standard dinner plate where the lip is too tall to set the focus on the basin of the plate and clear it back to the ‘home’ station.
I’m managing to get the laser to sit within the workable area to start but can’t seem to get it to finish in the workable area as it either goes to the laser bed home (which moves the plate making rescans impossible) or stops half way through the design where I’ve ‘Set Finish Position’.
What am I doing wrong? What settings do I need to change?
If you set the “Set Finish Position” in the center of the plate, that is where it should go after it finishes the program. I had to do this on some deep cutting boards, so I know it works.
Just before you run the program, check the Device Settings window, Basic Settings tab. Is that showing the center of the plate?
Practice on cardboard until you get it working. Much cheaper.
