How to set up Fiducials on the camera

Hi I was just wondering how I get the camera to register the fiducials (black dots) in my print/cut file

The dot calibration pattern pdf can be found in our camera documentation here: Calibrate Camera Lens - LightBurn Documentation

This is part of the lens calibration procedure: Calibrate Camera Lens - LightBurn Documentation

But on our machine the camera is located right next to the laser but on the pictures in the calibration show like a Birds Eye view. So you can’t just tell lightburn these are fiducals so it knows where to cut the prints out?

During the second part of calibration, when you perform the alignment, you will be asked how your camera is mounted:

Head mounted cameras are still in beta, I would encourage you to try our Release Candidate: LightBurn 2.0.00 Release Candidate – LightBurn Software

The short answer is that you don’t, at least not yet. We don’t have automated detection of marks with the camera. To use the Print & Cut system you jog the laser head to the center of your two targets, and register the position of the laser at each one using the Print & Cut wizard, no camera required.

Automatic marker detection is something that we’re planning, but hasn’t been implemented yet.
