How to speed up line cuts - preview says 24 mins but actual time is 40 mins

Hi, I have a stencil I am cutting, the file preview says 24 mins but it’s taking 40 mins to actually cut. i have switched on optimisation but still no further forward. Would grouping objects within the pattern help?

Perhaps reading the controller settings into the Preview simulation will help:

The LightBurn interface has changed a bit since that was written, but you should find a Read from controller button on the Additional Settings tab of Edit → Device Settings.

The simulation timing will always differ from reality, but should be closer than a factor of two unless the pattern has weird complexities.

A picture and a file uploaded will help diagnose where you can improve.

Are you cutting a vector object or an image?

Are you using flood fill?
Is your scan angle advantageous to the project?
How many passes?

There is something we can help you with…but our crystal ball is broken.

Hiya, thank you for responding, my first time on the forum and I couldn’t find where to attach a pic haha! I see it now though! I’ll jump on my computer tomorrow and send the required info. Thanks for your help.

The actual save file will be a HUGE help. That way other people with different machines can verify the answer across multiple platforms.

Please consider uploading the file, too

Your initial question seems to be about two separate things.

Are you trying to improve the time estimate accuracy or make the job run faster? They’re different problems with different solutions.
