Let’s say that you want to resize this part., The slots and pockets are constant, but their centeredness will obviously change.
I currently do this with guidelines that I drag out and then go into node editing. It’s A LOT OF WORK!
I feel like a feature allowing to select centered nodes as anchors and then bring the end nodes in to make the new width. I don’t want to resize everything. I want the tabs and slots to stay the same.
The other option is just resize the entire part to the new size then use the “Resize Slots in Selection” tool to bring the tabs back to the correct size. This may take a couple tries to get right since the tabs will be included in the new size.
Hmmm. I don’t understand. I didn’t realize that size transformations respected selected nodes. Having said that, I don’t see it doing so, either. I just tried selecting combinations of nodes while resizing and all I see if it resizing the entire vector, as usual.
Also, I don’t see how to get anything useful with the resize slots tool here. I’m trying to change the overall dimensions, without altering the tab widths.
The crazy thing is it seemed to work properly for me yesterday on my laptop, but maybe I didn’t notice the stretch in the center at that time. I try it today on my desktop and it’s not working like I described. Sorry for leading you down a bad path.
You can change the entire size, then use the resize tool to bring the tabs back to the correct size. The problem with resizing it like you describe is your tabs on the horizontal edges don’t stay centered if you only move one end.
I REALLY need to spend some quality time with Cuttle. I did pay for it! I spend SO much time in Lightburn these days. I’d have to not only learn Cuttle, but also a new workflow.
