I am considering purchasing your software, LightBurn, to use with my new laser, the Commarker Omni 1 (UV laser). However, I am currently evaluating the software using the free trial (version 1.7.03) and have encountered an issue that I would like to clarify before proceeding with the purchase.
Here’s the problem I am experiencing:
When I run a sample test using Q pulse and Frequency settings, I achieve excellent results and can clearly observe the effects of adjusting these parameters. However, when I attempt to engrave the same square using the parameters set in the Cuts/Layers tab, the results are completely different. It appears that the laser outputs much more power, and changes to the Q pulse and Frequency settings have no noticeable effect. The only parameter that seems to influence the outcome is the speed setting; all other adjustments yield no visible difference.
Could you please help me understand what might be causing this discrepancy? Is this a known issue or a potential glitch? I truly appreciate LightBurn’s user interface and features, and I am keen to purchase the software, but this issue is holding me back.
Thank you very much for your time and assistance. I look forward to your guidance.
The first picture (Picture 1) shows the settings in the initial window, which I used for both scenarios. In the second picture (Picture 2), you can see the result from the UV laser with these settings. I’m happy with the outcome.
However, as I mentioned earlier, when I try to engrave the same square using a whiter tone separately, I get a result that looks like the settings from Picture 3, regardless of the adjustments made. It seems that during the test phase, the software correctly applies changes to the Q pulse and KHz values. But when I attempt to engrave using the same initial settings, the result differs significantly.
Could you please clarify why this might be happening?
It seems like a similar issue to the one discussed in this topic: MOPA Q-Pulse Setting Only Works with the Material Test. I read through the entire thread but didn’t see any clear resolution. Has LightBurn looked into this further?
I have same problem with commarker b4 20w. Power speed test looks the same in lightburn only on speed 100mm/s looks lighter but in ezcad2 there is no problem with tests
