I cannot connect lightburn to comgrow z1

Hi I have purchased a windows laptop. This will not connect using either Lightburn or RGBL.
And ideas on how to get the connection working.
From the app I can engrave so the the cutter does respond to WiFi connections.

Does any know if itā€™s possible to use putty to test connection?

Back to a previous question when you were trying to connect with Mac. Did you try different USB cables?

Do you hear the connection sound in windows when you plug and unplug the cable?

Hi we tried 2 different leads and also a usb 2.1 hub. The windows one has com3 active. I donā€™t think there was a sound when tried to send to the comgrow z1. I plugged into windows before starting grbl

I meant when you plug and unplug the cable from the PC, it should make a sound if there is an active connection regardless of what program is running.

Has anyone been able to successfully connect Lightburn to the Comgrow Z1 (20x) via the MacBook Pro M3. Iā€™ve noted number of attempts but no success. Many thanks to all who have worked through the attempts made to date.

Try this:
Disconnect laser power and USB
The correct speed for new board is 230400, for old board is 921600.
One at a time after the speed change close and restart Lightburn.
As last resort if the above does not work after each change restart your Mac also.

Lightburn with my Fiber doesnā€™t have a communication speed.

Are you talking about setting the Mac usb communication speed?

Sorry, I thought this was a fiber machineā€¦ my mistake :poop:

:smile_cat:

Thanks for these suggestions. The Mac intel chip still does not connect to the laser

Try 3 or 4 different USB2.0 cables or connecting trough a cheap USB2.0 HUB.

Laser is USB2. Mac is USB3. MAC will not downshift to USB2 if a USB-C cable is on both ends. If you put a dirt-cheap USB2 hub between them, the MAC will be tricked into downshifting.

This has worked for other users with your setup.
