II can’t connect my Longer Ray5 20w engraver wirelessly to my home network. I can get it to work with USB wired connection but it will not connect to my Home Network. I am running Windows 11 pro, I have 1GB internet speed through Fiber, but i just can’t get it to connect. Someone please set me in the right direction because I am a super newbie. My engraver is the Longer RAY5 20watt and it does support wireless connections. I have also tried to follow along with Longer’s video tutorials and also LightBurn’s video tutorials. If anyone could help I would really appreciate it as I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Thanks in advance.
First of all: why is this necessary? Wireless connections are not a good idea when it comes to lasers. It’s much more unstable, which increases the risk of fires tremendously.
Though, in most cases, the small microcontrollers can’t handle strong passwords and special characters inside passwords. It’s best to create a guest network with a weak password (only normal letters and numbers, no special chars) for the laser and the control device. Though I’d still highly recommend avoiding wifi at all.
@misken is 100% correct, because the signal strength varies from a peak max to all the way to zero. A WiFi Analyzer app shows this very well. You can’t stream with a zero signal strength.
How do I Mark this as Solved!
If it does not offer that at the bottom of the posting, it cannot be marked. However, you just did mark it, right?
Not all threads can be marked. They explained it to me but I forgot why. ![]()
