Hello Guys, I am trying to dock the little rectangle to the larger one so I can weld it. For some reason there is a small gap in between. Can you help?
Qu for LB.lbrn2 (11.5 KB)
For some reason they won’t dock when that close. I thought maybe it was due to snapping limits, so I turned off snapping, but that didn’t work either.
What did work is move it away from the large object with the down arrow 1 click, then dock it.
Sorry to step in.
You have to set padding to 0.
And then do as @thelmuth wrote.
Padding was set at 0 on my system and it still wouldn’t close the gap. The gap is .002. Padding resolution is .0 mm, measure is .00. I think it was too close for the resolution of the tool. Once I moved it away it locked in on clicking dock.
Mine opened with 5.0.
I´ve 5 Lightburn windows and all have 5.0.
Maybe it gets from the before one.
Adding Padding accepts .xxxxx(24).
Interesting, was that possibly what yours was at already? Either way, the gap was only .002. I wonder if he tried docking, then moving manually, but that was as close as he could get due to a snapping setting.
I always do the same , move away shape then dock.
Is that a LB bug then? Yes it works when I move the item away, and the dock it again
I don’t know that it’s a bug, just a fact that it can’t detect such a small distance. I didn’t test it to see what the threshhold is. I might do that if I get bored later.
the padding was at 0. Dont know if its a software bug
I took a minute to test this and it’s as I expected. The smallest resolution the dock tool will move is .01, you were at .002. In other words, anything closer than .01 will not dock since the docking tool thinks it already is docked.
problem is, I was originally far from the rectangle (like 2-3 cm). It docked at .002 as you said, but why?
Maybe you selected all 5 shapes and docked up same time and your middle one is .002 up ( the middle one is initially docked).
No I docked one by one. Only the one in the middle docks. I am puzzled!
