I have horizontal banding in my large A3 photo engraving

I’ve followed the topics but couldn’t rely (new to here)
I did the 1$ test and mine is set to 25 but how do I change it to 255 and I’ve run a much smaller image and it doesn’t appear to have banding. Could it be image settings. There was alarms. I was pretty good at images with my co2 and used a programme called photograv. And I’m not getting good results. Help please?

Can we get a picture of the problem?
What alarms did you get and what is 1$ test?

$1 is stepper idle delay in milliseconds. Usually set to a fairly low value, like 25. $1=255 will disable idling so the steppers are always energized. This can help positioning accuracy in certain limited circumstances (such as a gantry that drifts between jobs or could get bumped when changing workpieces in a jig). It also has potential for overheating stepper motors. Recommended testing to ensure motors remain cool enough to operate within specs. My LDO high temp motors (inside a heated printer enclosure) are rated for 180c, but many others are only rated for 50c.

I can’t imagine this would have any impact on banding mid-job.

Added the photos thanks for the help

The banding is equidistant from beginning to end. Hence, I thought it might be an issue with settings?

If you measure the pitch of the banding - as in the distance between each pattern, is it 2mm ±?
if so you might have a belt tooth banding issue, these are a bit tricky to fix

I think this is $1=25 changed to 255 to keep power on the motors. Only useful if you keep bumping the laser.
