I found a version that supports my system, but it won’t let me use it for free. I have a network connection, but it keeps telling me I don’t.

Sure it won’t. You need a license for every version. But if you buy a license now, you can choose to install any version you like (also 1.5).
If the license server does not work, use the “offline activation” method.

I wanted to use it for free for 30 days, but it didn’t give me that opportunity.Don’t these older versions support a 30-day free trial?

It appears that you have had Lightburn installed in trial mode previously. Click the extend trial button. That should give you an additional time period.

Versions after 1.5.00 support extensions from within the app. It appears that you simply did not start the trial. Click on “start your free trial”

After clicking “Start my free trial”, it tells me there is a network error and it cannot connect to the server, but my network is fine; I can open browsers and other software.

I tried downloading version 1.2.0, but got the same error message. It said I encountered a network error.

Check if you have a Firewall blocking LightBurn acess to internet.

Sometimes, prior installations of LightBurn may have changed your PC’s ability to reach LightBurn’s activation servers. To check if this is the case, please follow these steps to take a screenshot of your ‘hosts’ file.

  1. Open the Windows Start menu (or press the Windows Key on your keyboard)

  2. type ‘powershell’ and open Microsoft Powershell (press Enter)

  3. Copy the command below

Get-Content $env:SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts

  1. Right-click and Paste into PowerShell

  2. Press Enter on your keyboard, PowerShell will then find and write out the contents of your host file in the PowerShell window, like below:

  3. Take a screenshot of the window, and paste it into your reply to this email (Please see this page for how to screenshot)

e) If you see any entries in the host file with lightburnsoftware.com or cryptlex.app, this indicates you need to reset your host file. Microsoft has a guide on how to do this available here: LINK
