I opened file but can't see it

It doesn’t show the box to place it in

Try to zoom out a lot or use CTRL+A to select everything and then you will see in the size window if you need to enlarge it or make it smaller.

Immediately on loading the file click on the zoom to frame selection zoom-to-frame-selection.

It’s likely somewhere and/or very small.

I clicked the zoom to frame selection. Why is the little green and red squares so small so I can fit images in box? Thanks, Lucie

You imported a file that is showing a height of almost 270". You most likely need to scale it down from mm to inches - 1/25.4

The red square is where you 0, 0 location is on the work area. The green represents the job origin.

After you click on the zoom to selection, it appears that the graphics are huge and I don’t actually see your work area. The whole size of this is here

I doubt you have a machine with a work area that’s 171x269 inches or 14x22 feet in size.

Use the mouse and you can zoom into the green/red dot area, which is where your workspace is…

Make sense?

When I open new the y x are in upper left corner. When I load my file the wind up in middle of screen? I’ m 85… give me a break (lol).

What format was the file you imported?

You wind up in the middle since your graphics will cover an semi truck.

Did you notice you can’t see any work area outlines? You machines work area is so small it’s under or covered up by the green/red squares…

If you reduce it’s size it will fit.

Lightburn must zoom out to get all of your graphics on the screen, so your visible work are gets smaller.

Go to the object or selected size and make it fits within your work area. Another tip-off is that your numbers go negative and you have 0, 0 in the middle of your screen.

See the little “lock” icon at the top?
Click that so it looks locked, then in the width box, where it says 100%, change that to 10%.
You will then have to adjust it to the size you want but that will get you close.
