I sent a file to laser and it will beep but no picture shows on the laser machine and it shows no file or unknown file.

Hi,

I am new to this forum and need some help.

I have a Boss HP-3655. I am hooked up directly to my Dell laptop (Windows 11) via USB cable. (Lightburn 1.6.03)
I was engraving a few days ago then a couple days later files would not transfer correctly. I sent a file to laser and it will beep but no picture shows on the laser machine and it shows no file or unknown file. I have restarted the Boss laser, my laptop and Lightburn (multiple times). Turned everything off and restarted everything, still no file sent to the laser correctly. I have tried multiple files, different files, files I use all the time, and still nothing goes to the laser. I can preview the files and they play just fine. I can access the previous files from memory on the laser, and they will work. When I send a file, the file downloads and the laser beeps as if it was successful. But nothing comes on the display screen. I checked the file memory and it is listed as “unknown file”. I was successful in deleting the unknown files

Thank you in advance!

I know nothing about yor laser, but will venture a guess.

You deleted the Unknowns. Those are likely just filenames with no files attached. Try deleting some old files you have not used recently. The file memory space in the controller might be full.

Mike,

I did delete the unknown files. You recommended deleting some of my old files. Are you talking about from the laser machine or my laptop? I have deleted all the files I can find from my laser machine but I am new to this and may not be in the correct place to delete all the files. I do not know where to delete them from my laptop other than my folders.

Thanks,
CL

I believe he’s talking about the Ruida…

This can mean an error… does the Ruida console show any kind of error?

You can delete files from the machine console, and via Lightburn in the Files window. You might have to enable the files window via the toolbar Window menu.

Jack,

The machine will beep like the file went through as normal, no errors are shown. All files have been deleted from the machine console file window and from the toolbar window in LB.

Thanks,
CL

Does it give you a run or elapsed time at the bottom after it beeps?

I though mine beeped twice at the end of the job…?
