I use P to center my work on the grid. I hit something it now centers to the right of the grid. How do I fix and thanks

I use P to center my work on the grid. I hit something it now centers to the right of the grid. How do I fix and thanks

Make sure you only have what you intend to center, selected. When you press P - the entire selection is centered. So if you have an object and some scrap selected together, they will be treated as one item.

Horse and triangle selected together, the whole group is centered with P
