Ignore guidelines when selecting Zoom to Frame

Whilst the new guideline feature in LightBurn 1.5.01 is a great addition, it would be better if the Zoom to Frame selection ignores guidelines as the zoom includes the entire length of the both the horizontal and vertical guidelines making the actual objects barely visible. The only way to overcome this problem is to delete all guidelines.
Will it also be possible to add an ability to select all guidelines simultaneously as an entity type (ie not T1) to delete them?

That’s interesting… I had never noticed that.

If you select only your own geometry and Zoom to Frame, it works as intended. But if your guidelines are selected, it does zoom way out to include the guidelines.

Tips (in case you did not know):
You can select your geometry only (and leave the guidelines out) by dragging your selection box from left to right (a red box will appear), instead of right to left (a green box will appear).

Alternately, you can select only the guidelines (assuming nothing else is on the T1 Tool Layer) by holding Shift and clicking on the T1 layer in the layer tab… then delete them. But if you have other entities on the tool layer, those will be included in the selection set as well.

Or hit Ctrl-Shift-I to invert the selection to everything else, which may be close enough to snagging “all of the actual objects”.

Phew… gonna need a third hand to use these options soon.

Yeah. LB needs more context sensitive right-click menus. Whatever tool is selected should bring up all available options for it. I have a hard time remembering all the hotkeys.

I can’t remember more than 3-4 of them. If my mouse breaks, I am in big trouble!

Hi Jim, thanks for your useful advice. LightBurn is by far the best.

Currently, guide rulers are just normal objects, not real rulers. This has many drawbacks, yours is one of them.
LightBurn team is already working on another solution (I think) to remove this.

Thanks Melvin, a solution will be welcome. In the meantime I’m using Jim Martin’s “workarounds”.

I came across another problem related to the current LightBurn guideline feature. When creating a guideline parallel to one side of a reference guideline using the “Create an array of selected objects” function, the two guidelines are automatically grouped together. Creating a parallel guideline on the opposite side of the above reference guideline using the same array function leads to creation of two parallel guidelines because the former two guidelines were grouped together. Please forgive me if my problem is not clear as I am not that proficient at explaining things as English is not my first language.
