Illustrator et lightburn (Illustrator and LightBurn)

Are there any scripts or extensions that make it easier to lay out our projects between Lightburn and Illustrator?

One thing to be aware of is the color palette for the various layers. If you use the appropriate colors in Illustrator they will directly translate to LightBurn layers.

Are you trying to address a specific problem that you’re having or is this very general?

The biggest thing to be aware of when designing in Illustrator for things that are intended to be lasered is that all lines when imported into LightBurn will be considered for burning. For example, in Illustrator you can stack shapes in a way that lines underneath are not visible. However, that won’t work well when imported into LightBurn because the hidden lines will be considered for cutting. To simplify, you need to essentially flatten all designs.

Other than that, specific layout isn’t really significant unless you’re working at extreme coordinates.

There are certain restrictions in terms of features in Illustrator that will not carryover but don’t have a specific list of those. For example, I believe masks were not supported at one point although that may have changed.

LightBurn doesn’t work like an illustration program. Any stroke width is discarded and will show as just a line in LightBurn. You should think of lines as being infinitely thin.

LightBurn can fill closed shapes. But if you’re attempting to make a wider line, then really you need to convert the stroke to a path such that it shows as a filled area resembling the original stroked line.

Can you attach a photo that shows the problem you’re having?

Yes. You can only have one project open per instance of LightBurn currently.

If you change and LightBurn specific settings (e.g. UI font size) then the last instance to close will win. However, for any project settings, those are unique per project so can be safely preserved between open instances.

I don’t really see a problem with the circles in the photo. Are you saying they’re not falling out completely? It could be that because of the size of the circle and your speed settings that power is being modulated down to prevent burning but it may be too low to be able to cut through cleanly.

You could try a few strategies:

  1. slow down the overall cut
  2. put the circles on a different layer and tailor the settings to the circles
  3. increase power to overcome the power modulation
  4. enable “Constant Power Mode” in Cut settings. This could cause overburning in some areas so isn’t a perfect fix

ok merci j’essaie cela dès demain
