Inhibiting the laser when the lid is open

Hi,

I’ve got a Ruida controller (6442) on my new laser :slight_smile:

The laser has come wired so that the entire system is powered down when the lid is opened. I want it to just inhibit the laser when the lid is opened. Is there support in lightburn for doing that if I rewire the switch ?

That’s not a LightBurn specific function, but the controller supports it by connecting to the DrProc pin, on the connector labelled CN2. That’s ‘Door Protect’ and the laser won’t run without that pin connected to ground. Use a normally open micro-switch so that it’s pressed when the lid is resting on it, and enable Door Protect in Edit > Machine Settings in LightBurn.
