Installed 2.0.5 and now can not import DXF or AI files

I just install 2.0.5 on two pc’s. The problem is I cannot import DXF or AI files one system.

I have checked all my settings and did not see any problems. Went on to forum and looked for an answer but nothing I could find there. Did an AI search and when through all the suggestions. Turn off protection, uninstall and reinstall, turn on Debug log and got nothing.

Can you help solve this problem…

Can you email or attach one or more of the failing files? Is it any AI / DXF file or specific ones?

When you say you “cannot import” what does that mean? Does it crash? Do you get errors or any messages? Telling us what doesn’t happen isn’t very helpful - tell us what does happen.

Can you post some sample files that you’re having the issue with, then we might be able to narrow down where the problem lies.

I’m having the same problem. DXF file exported from F360 will not import on LB 2.0.5 on my Windows 11 PC. In the lower LB message box I get “Nothing Imported”

MM Y Gantry Mounting Bolts Pattern Template.dxf (25.2 KB)
I’m running the same version of LB on a Windows 10 PC and the same file imported fine. LB message box stated “File imported in 4 milliseconds”

Windows11 Pro Ver. 25H2
Windows10 Pro Ver. 22H2

File attached.

Imported for me on Mac. Check that your dxf import settings are the same on both pc’s. Settings Menu> Import/Export tab.

I checked and the settings are the same for both PC’s.

I’m trying to import the file from my Network NAS drive. Which is when the file fails.

I copied the file to the Window11 PC Download fold and now it will import fine.
LB Message box “File imported in 0 Milliseconds”

The problem seems to be retrieving the file from the NAS drive. The drive is an older Buffalo NAS.

I bet it has something to do with permissions from the Win11 PC for the NAS. Not sure where or how you would fix this. Google?

If I figure it out, I will post it here.

Just a side note. The DXF file from the NAS to the Windows11 PC was able to be imported into Vectric Vcarve Pro.

Do you have the same issue importing other graphics into Lightburn from the NAS? Other file formats, other DXF files, or just this one particular file?

File types that seem to be affected are: PDF, AI, DXF, SVG

But all issues are loading from the NAS? If you move the files locally first, they all work correctly?

Yes, only from the NAS. If I move the files to a local drive they all import correctly.

I just did a test from NAS box (Synology mapped to the Z:\ drive in Win11).

No issue.

No problem importing PDF, AI, DXF or SVG files.

Try disabling Windows Hello Authentication this will avoid using Microsoft Account over SMB share. Doesn’t always work, but can’t hurt to try

Thanks for all the replies. Upgraded to a new Asustor NAS and the problem when away. The old Buffalo NAS used SMB 1.0
