I am using acm panels for signs by cutting the protective film to make stencils for applying paint. I have a 10 optical watt diode laser. When I do a cut, I am getting random parts of text that do not cut. I have observed as it cuts and see no change in laser intensity when it happens. There is a faint line where it dies not cut. If i recut, it works. Any ideas what would cause this.
You leave out a lot of information…
- When you recut, do you remove the panel to examine it first?
- Is the protective coating clear?
- Is the protective coating colored?
- Is the protective coating plastic, paper, or a combination?
- Is the ACM perfectly flat?
- What happens when you increase the power somewhat?
