When I invert an image it doesn’t change the cut area in the preview? And yes, i am new to this, lots to learn.
Can you post a screen snapshot (WinKey+CTRL+S) of what you mean? Maybe a before and after version?
Here I show 2 of the same image, on 2 different layers with the only difference being setting the blue layer to ‘Negative Image - ON’ (green). And below is how that Preview looks on my system. As @MikeyH suggests, please do share what you do see.
