Is it possible to create different profiles for cameras so you can change lenses & use same camera?

I’ve got a newer galvo/fiber and I’m looking to mount a camera to get a better field of vision. I know you can use multiple cameras and select them in lightburn, but I’m wondering if I’m going to be tied to using the camera for just one lens? Once the lens is swapped out, that changes the focal distance obviously which will then change the dynamics for camera.

Wondering if there is a work around I’m not seeing so I can create multiple “profiles” for the same camera or if I’d need to mount others?

Thanks

Perhaps create a separate laser device for each lens. I believe that should allow for separate camera profiles. I’m theorizing, however, as I’ve not tried your specific scenario but I believe it should work.

Yes I have a laser profile for each lens, but it appears that this does not work. I’m going to send an email to LB’s customer support to see if this could be included in the future

Can you export .lbdev files for 2 lenses and upload here? I’d like to compare them. I’m almost certain that they each should have a camera configuration section but perhaps there’s something else preventing it from working that way.

110x110.lbdev (38.1 KB)
210x210.lbdev (38.3 KB)

I don’t know if you can extract anything from this but I will attach my camera settings as well that I exported after calibrating each. Even when I import the settings after switching over to a new lens (say for example I just calibrated 110x100, then I switch to 210x210) and import the settings I exported previously, it still maintains the last saved settings which in that case would have been 110x110.

110 lens camera settings.lbcm (756 Bytes)
210 lens camera settings.lbcm (757 Bytes)

Thank you for anything you can offer

I can confirm at least that each device profile does contain unique camera correction data.

I can also see that the saved camera settings for each .lbcm file are also different.

What is the behavior that you’re seeing when you switch devices? Does any combination of shutting down LightBurn between device changes or various camera changes change the behavior?

I’ve had occasions where camera changes didn’t seem to be respected immediately or didn’t properly crop to the work area.

You know, it’s funny I was thinking about doing that last night but figured it was pointless as I wouldn’t want to have to shutdown LB and start back up again to get it to work, but then again, this might be something they could fix. I’ll give that a try tonight. Thanks for looking at this for me. It’s good to know at least something is being saved, might be something the LB crew can work with. I’ll try again tonight.

Has there been a solution found for this issues. I am seeing the same results. I have tried and can not get the setting to save and reload when I change the laser profile for each lens.
I would like to suggest a button on the camera table that allows you to positive save and reload named camera setting to the laser being used. The purpose would so I can verify the setting are being saved and loaded correctly.

I have found the load and save function by click click the mouse . now my question is why my camera control window doe not have all of the adjustments listed in the Lightburn Doc.
Both of my camera were purchased through Lightburn

Those controls are only available when using “Custom Capture System” which is only available on Windows.

thank you for the answer
