Is it possible to import also layer names from SVG?

I noticed that one can change layer names, what is really helpful.

Is it possible to create SVG file where names for object will be somehow specified and used by Lightburn?

Lightburn doesn’t recognize layer names in SVG, but it works off of an RGB color pattern. If you design your shapes in SVG with a specific RGB color, you can make the layer name in Lightburn what you want it to be.

Here are links to 2 SVG files that show the RGB Colors.

Lightburn_RGB_Color_Palette_Line.svg

Lightburn_RGB_Color_Palette_Filled.svg

But names need to be already present in LB file before import…

I am trying to distribute file in SVG format (as LB is not openable without LB), I guess I will need to live without layer names.

If you have Inkscape, open the SVG file in it and add layer names. Then save again as SVG.

But it will be ignored by LB, right (“Lightburn doesn’t recognize layer names in SVG”)

That is correct
