Is there a way of rotating the work space grid?

No Z axis. Ran the 3 commands and posted the results

All changes were made. as describes. Trying to figure out how to get back to default…any suggestions? It is not quite bricked…

When I tried it it headed for the opposite corner where the controller is but there is no limit switch there so I stopped it

Now the unit is homing back to the controller

Let’s start from the top.

Please address each and every question.

  1. To what corner in your diagram did the machine home to originally?
  2. Did you change any hardware or toggle any GRBL configuration changes prior to posting the original GRBL configuration?

It now homes normally and returns to the controller. If I try to jog to the center it only vibrates badly
and slowly moves along the X axis

It homed to the controller as in the screen shot. No changes were made to the original Gerbl controller program

Okay.

Do this please:

  1. Turn off laser
  2. Move head to middle of machine
  3. Turn on machine and immediately manually trigger the homing switches so that the laser module is still near the middle of the machine
  4. Test jogging controls. Does left move left, right move right, up move up, and down move down? If not, what are they doing instead?

If the limit switches are pushed on startup, the jog controls work normally but opposite because the laser is physically reversed

Can you detail out exactly what happens with left, right, up and down please?

Also, to confirm, you now consider down to be as down as shown in the diagram (away from controller). And left is as in diagram (away from controller).

If i was viewing from the controller side joggs would appear normal

Believe it or not I used to be an IT Director and have been in the PC industry since 1980…
Gerbl is not my cup of tea…

That’s a bit roundabout but I assume that aligns with what I’m describing.

Run this one command at a time in Console please and return output:

$3=2
$23=3
$H
?

Assuming things work correctly check jogging controls. At this point I assume you’re looking at it as drawn in the diagram.

$3=2

ok

$23=3

ok

$H

?

ok

Something didn’t work there. Rerun this please and return output:

$H
?

$H

?

ok

This is what came back

The display in LB is 180 degrees turned around. Once the laser homes it no longer functions

Impossible to get it out of home. without the vibrating

Once homed the jog will work but if I create a circle and tru to frame, the laser heads in the opposite direction

So no status message is displaying after ther ? command?

What does this mean? Can you take a screenshot please?

We need to recalibrate. Let’s make sure we’re aligned on language.

Can you confirm this is how you see up, down, left, and right?

You’re confusing me here. Are you getting different behavior at different times? I’m trying to reconcile the last two posts.

The controller is in the front of the laser and all jog controls work in the right direction from that perspective
