Issue with AtomStack A24 Pro and R2 V2 Roller - Laser Position Incorrect at Start (Running on GRBL)

Hello everyone,

I’m using an AtomStack A24 Pro along with the AtomStack R2 V2 Roller, and I’ve already completed a few successful engraving projects. In my previous projects without the roller, everything worked perfectly: I configured the laser so that the red crosshair accurately marks the starting position. When I frame the area, the laser shows exactly the area I want to engrave, and all my engravings came out as expected.

Now, I’ve installed the R2 V2 Roller to engrave a silver-plated napkin ring. I followed the manufacturer’s instructions for setting up the roller, entered the standard values, and provided the correct diameter of the ring. I’m running this setup on GRBL.

The problem arises when I start the engraving: the laser suddenly moves to a completely wrong position, which doesn’t match either the framed area or the set starting position. I have to stop the process immediately, as the reflective napkin ring could cause the laser beam to bounce back and potentially cause damage.

I’ve been troubleshooting this for hours and can’t figure out what’s going wrong. Here’s a video that provides deeper insights into the issue: YouTube Link.

Does anyone have any idea what I might have done wrong? I’d really appreciate your help and thank you in advance for your support!

Many thanks and best wishes from Hamburg
