Running into an issue when I attempt to engrave multiple small items with the same text/graphics. If I perform a test with a single item, all the text and images are engraved as placed in the preview. However, if I then attempt to engrave any number of identical items greater than one, the text layer is offset while the layer for the images is placed as expected. I have used the same jig to perform both my test (single item) and my attempt at a production run.
Would I be better off engraving one layer, the text, for example, across the “batch” then switching to the other layer rather than trying to cut both in one go?
In the picture attached, the duck on the left was engraved in a batch and, as you can see, the text is off center but the images (FB and IG logos) are centered properly when compared to the image on the right, which was engraved by itself.
This is making me somewhat bonkers trying to sort this out. Any assistance or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Do you use a template or engrave and cut out each item “collected”. If it is not too “private”, send the file, it could give a little better insight into possible solution proposals.
Are you using the new version of Lightburn? I would use the array function. I did 77 tiny (.75x.4) items with text on both sides and every one came out…but the old version would do what your photo shows, not the new one…
I have not upgraded yet - read there were Mac issues and didn’t want to introduce more variables in the middle of trying to churn out a pile of widgets.
I did discover that if I engrave one layer, let that complete, then engrave the second layer that it normally works. I was feeling pretty good about that until about 30 minutes ago when my theory was disproved.
