Issues with trace function in 0.9.12

Having some trouble with the new layers fuctionality.

When I trace an image, it copies the layer to an existing line layer.

Is there a way to have the trace come up in the original layer, like it did before the upgrade? Or even an individual layer?

I am doing some multicolor cuts, and keeping them on different layers helps keep everything in order for color and cut.

Trace works on images, and turns them into vectors. It is impossible to place them on the “same” layer, because images and vectors use different layer sets. Do you mean that you want the traced result to be assigned the same layer color as the image was?
